What's New in Wusage 7.1?

In addition to the changes listed below, many additional fixes and improvements have been made, some of which are too small to mention individually. Be sure to try Wusage 7.1 and review the example reports on our website.
  • Before You Start: Choosing Simple, ISP or Advanced Mode : "Simple," "ISP," and "advanced" modes. Simple mode is best for those who are administering a single web server. ISP mode is best for those who are only interested in providing statistics for many virtual domains (see below). Advanced mode is best for returning users and offers complete access to all features, including ISP features.
  • Configuring the Program in ISP Mode : easy support for configuring many individual virtual web server accounts, including the ability for individual web server owners to edit their own configurations safely! Individuals can change their report settings, but they cannot browse files or exceed limits set by the administrator. The administrator can easily create a new account based on the settings of an existing account, avoiding tedious hand-configuration for each additional server!
  • Configuring the Program in ISP Mode : automatic log rotation, compression and/or removal as part of the new easy ISP support.
  • Cookie Name That Identifies Visitors (Leave Blank to Use All Cookies) (singlecookie): support for wildcards and regular expressions when matching IIS cookie names with the singlecookie option.
  • Optimization Settings : option to optimize for fastest report generation OR lower memory usage. The new low-memory setting makes the generation of daily, weekly, monthly, and other reporting frequencies at the same time more practical for larger sites.
  • Search Server Templates (searchservertemplates): new optimizations for faster search keyword analysis.
  • Faster report generation.
  • Running Wusage Automatically : Unix versions: our built-in scheduling options are now smoothly integrated with the Unix cron program. No need to leave the application running, or to manually configure crontab entries.
  • Automatic support for .zip format files. Wusage supports the deflate compression method only. Modern zip file tools always use deflate compression for highly compressible data such as log files. (Wusage has also supported .gz files since version 6.0.) The (sortlogs) option may need to be turned on for archives containing multiple log files not in chronological order.
  • Modified report macros to be shared by all configurations can be placed in a single convenient directory. See the section of the manual.
